My Honest Grumble Note opinion of the new junky Troy Bilt tiller

What can I say about the 16" crt super bronco tiller?

I hate it to death.

The old troy bilt could finish our largest garden of approximately 1,800sf in a matter of 4 hours.Troy Bilt2This is what the new troy bilt did today, of which will have to be re-tilled as soon as I catch my breath.

You'll notice that only part of it is "tilled" using the new "tiller". Troy Bilt3 The new troy bilt is a multi-day episode of sweat.

The new troy bilt tiller has cheap tin-like steel and hollow steel tubing whereas the old troy bilt tiller could probably be hit with a bus and still survive.Troy Bilt4This new tiller-thing would surely crinkle up and die.

We have several plots including the raised garden beds that I made out of stone and rock masonry.Troy Bilt1Shown elsewhere on our website

The old Troy bilt came to me used for only $300.00 (or $250) back in 2015 and worked perfectly until 2022Troy Bilt4The new "troybilt" tiller cannot roll freely without a major work-out requiring some effort, then pull pins, hammer tire toward inside (as if it isn't narrow enough)

So what don't I like about the new "troybilt"?

My sister bought it for me because my old-school Troy bilt tiller blew a motorTroy Bilt2The new troy bilt tiller is only 16" wide and cost approximately $1,300.00 to be shipped for the shiny junk (I now see that it is available for $550.00 if we had not needed shipping, but I personally wouldn't give more than $200 if it were left to me).

The old Troy bilt had serious tires like on my tractor.Troy Bilt3The new Troy Bilt tiller is way too light, the tires literally are spinning away without moving an inch forward without my working to push and wiggle it side to side.

The old Troy bilt was God in the garden. In fact it would easily pull ahead of me because it was built with real solid steel and a heavy guage frame that made certain the tires had enough weight to pull me through the dirt without my having to push.Troy Bilt2

I miss the hell out of the old Troy Bilt.Troy Bilt5

The new troy bilt also has stationary handles whereas the old school troy bilt could easily be adjusted up and down and even to the side (so I didn't have to walk in the dirt).Troy Bilt6

My advice is to save your money and buy an old used clunker (when they built them tillers to last).
