Hi,
My name is Mickey Affrunti.
This is my first little bit about off-grid living.
In short, Mickey is an extreme off-gridder.

Deer-Corn Season!
I will write more later on how I obtain the corn and how I use it to feed the dogs.

"Even snake tastes good when you're hungry."
In fact, lately I have learned to eat anything, and like it.

They get a little kibble on the side, but mainly its venison, rabbit and squirrel on the menu.
Venison Leg
Some of the steaks off the rump.
Basically anything the dogs catch is usually edible.
Shown is a photo of Deer Ribs being prepared. I have learned to skin and clean the meat.
My dogs eat what I eat.
Shown are the remains of making venison stew (and jerky).
I save the hides that are used as clothing.
Other skins are used for wall coverings because the thin sheet of plywood that separates the inside of this shed from the outside can get pretty brutal at times.

"You can use popped popcorn like flour,
if you grind it down to a powder first."

Jar of potato peels.
See all the bubbles?
Vinegar is also easily made by fermenting apples in water and sugar which eventually turns into apple cider vinegar. Fermenting potato peels in water and shaking the jar daily, not forgetting to open the lid for just a few seconds daily to let it breathe, will eventually turn into Yeast that you can bake with.
Yeast forming
Picture of a variety of meats I cooked up. Can you tell the rabbit from the chicken or the venison from beef?
"The transition to such a small space is a challenge."

"Off-grid Living is not easy."
