Another short-lived capitalizing device is added to the world's uncontaminated soil (a`la the trash).
What can we do to own up to the corporate trash that is sold to us?
It was decided to get my money's worth out of this pile of corporate capitalizing crap and create an insulated battery bank for solar storage of energy which can be safely left outside to power the outside lights.
First, energy monitoring components and other items were added to the non-working chest-freezer.
After drilling the holes through, some nuts and bolts were utilized to hold it all in place.
Next
The wiring went in.
Finally everything is connected to the solar panels and ready to go into operation.
The Batteries being utilized in the battery bank are 330ah "duracell" Batteries.
We interrupt your regular planned reading
to announce the arrival of the much needed
new 48v battery bank!
woo wooo
Behold, a bank of trojans arrived.
It doesn't look like much, huh?
And there, the over 1,100 pounds of batteries were left.
Poor Trojans
The height of the towering Trojans stand 16 inches tall
Helpful Hint: which is the approximate equavalent height of a concrete block turned on-end, with a mortar joint on top.
As luck would have it, the batteries were a perfect fit for the space avaiable.
The replacement Trojan Batteries have a capacity of 435 amp-hours @ 20hr. rate and will be allowing for 59.28 volts in Bulk, 54 volts in Float, and 64.80 volts to equalize.
As a 2021 update: The 235ah and 325ah Duracell's were replaced with 435ah Trojans and life is much better these days.
As a 2022 update: Good Riddance to the previous bad performers, those "duracell's" a.k.a. .
