It all sounds easy enough, right?
Although there are definitely applications and appliances where this actually might work, such as pumping water or powering a fan; however if the appliance is not protected from over-voltage (and under-voltage), eventually the device will fail and may die prematurely.
Devices designed specifically for solar in mind are a rarity (with a price-tag to ward off any doubts), so that's when some alternatives and modifications to your Power Station will be necessary.
Now that you have acquired that fine bank of battery power, it's time to put it to some good use.
Planning along the lines of long-term is essential when building a power plant that will outlive you and me. Consider only purchasing items that have credible reviews first and foremost. Refrain from spurious purchases of the too-good-to-be-true products with ourageously low price-tags. By taking the time to investigate the company, take a moment to not just view the ratings, but actually read the reviews left by happy or unhappy citizens. By doing so could wake you up to something you were not even aware of, thereby sparing your carcas for the slaughter.
Purchasing only components that have a tried-and-true account of success-rates, keeps you and those around you safer.
When offered a choice of plastic or steel, steel will out-live plastics and should probably be considered, despite the additional cost.
And speaking of safety, consider your niece or grand-child coming to your off-grid edifice, would you feel safe having him or her around your power plant alone?
If not, fix it as if you were dying tomorrow!
Ensuring that everyday functions are enabled without your presence require additional components to your new off-grid power plant.
Choosing Quality Motion Sensors, Light Sensors, and Timed Sensors will remember to turn on and off appliances and lights, so you can remember more important things.
Keeping sensors and timed-switches in the loop increase the longevity of the battery-bank and the devices they power.

Keep in mind, if all it took was a couple of hundred dollars to allow you to survive an electrical grid blackout, every house and business would already have such a product, and nobody would bother buying into the electrical grid at all.
You will not solve all your electrical needs with the purchase of a solitary battery (yet).
If I could go through this life again, I would heed my advice on this one: 99 times out of 10 if the product is being pushed hard and heavy on television or social media advertising, it's simply a great-sounding gimmick (now turn the channel before your braincells get derailed and your pocket book become thinner).
Be satisfied that you have SOMETHING in your home that you will never again have to pay for. The energy it takes to keep available power for your lights, for instance, is a job well-done. Now go make another battery bank for the next project, maybe the computer and monitor. You can even choose where to place the battery bank, whether beside the first bank or a new location that is closer to the devices it is to power.
A lighter load will aid in ensuring you and your battery-bank a long life ";-)
