The summary of this web page is basically that Netspend has a few additional charges and I believe they still charge to call them for a balance on the card. The automated answering service will urge the buyers of their cards to enjoy the free online access to the balance information. The problem is that the online service hasn't ever worked for me (and others), which forces the profit to obtain the balance over the phone.

Now here comes my own review.

In dealing with this numbers-game has been hours of loss.

What other entities do you suppose profit from allowing Speedway NetSpend to steal from us? Follow the money-trail and you'll invariably find your varmint.

Recently I purchased two Speedway NetSpend Cards, the second one was in an effort to solve Speedway NetSpend's inability to allow me to access Account Records concerning the money I've entrusted them with in the first Speedway NetSpend Card.

And yet only a week after the purchase of the second card, it's Deja Vu and starting to look like a Speedway NetSpend pattern of obfuscating account information.

Consumer Protections?

I have called Netspend (that's generally a fruitless endeavor), and I've written Speedway NetSpend (oh how I have written, pleaded, allowed myself to be manipulated, and to no avail).

I have never been permitted to see the handling of my money to dispute when it magically disappears. I have never received a letter in the mail, email, or other notification pertaining to the account summary, balance, notifications, or anything.

Speedway NetSpend just takes the money?

The only way I can check my balance is to give more money! No kidding. And now I have to prove my identity to them (but why now, after the purchase, do I learn this?).
