Protection Racket in Springfield Ohio?

What to do when they "lurk privily"?

Valueable?

A government agent arrived at my door this day stating she's there to perform an investigation of a report of ... (she would not even tell me, non-specifics were all I was able to glean while speaking with her on the front porch of our home).

It is now two days later and I still have yet to know the real reason she's arrived. Her job title includes the word, "sanitarian"; yet during our front porch invasion-visit she told me that not all sod is legal.

No kidding. That's what she said. For the record there are no sod monsters here. I have never received sod. Sod, as I know it, is squares or rolls of turf. Nope, I double-checked and there certainly has never been a sod monster on this property...I swear on it.

Sod Monster 43.2a

Not even God would be able to locate a man or woman on this round planet that has EVER brought me sod (even though it's one of the allowable items on my webpage).

But her business card reads, "Clark County Combined Health District", and under her name are the words, "Registered Sanitarian, Certified Healthy Homes Specialist".

Upon pressing her for information, such as a copy of the complaint against me or the reason she's invaded our privacy and peace on an over one-acre plot of land located in Springfield Ohio, instead I am schooled about the word, "sod". The webpage that she was referring to, which includes the word "sod" is:

Sod Monster 40.3a

She did not tell me how sod could possibly become dangerously illegal, but after shooing her away I did some investigation and deduction of my own and began to find out if her words were true, that she does not need our permission to trespass upon our property.

So, also for the record, some of the donated items here were used to make some great stuff.

102.03 Except as otherwise provided in Section 102.03, nothing in these Regulations shall prohibit the use of any land for agricultural purposes, as defined by the Ohio Revised Code, or structures incident to the use for agricultural purposes of the land on which such structures are located, and no Zoning Certificate shall be required for such structure. [rev. 11-4-2020]

Law Words

302.04.09 Nothing in this Section shall be construed as prohibiting ordinary gardening activities in lawn or garden areas.

For instance, the City of Springfield had a building they tore down in town and used our property to dump tons of dirt.

Raising the Grade

The donated dirt allowed me to raise our front lawn from looking like a fish bowl into an awesome improvement to us and the community (since the house and property will be here long after I am deceased and is located on a main public roadj).

Property value

Nutrients and soil is still stolen (er, lost) to the owner of this fine grate that is placed in the middle of our front lawn, but at least the rest of the lawn is level now.

PropertyRaised the grade by a foot or two

Later we seeded the lawn with a various mix of grass seed to produce a unique shade of green compared to the surrounding lawns in the area.

Other stuff arrived in the Dirt !

Salvaged Brick

As the trucks arrived to dump their contents, brick and large rocks were segregated and stockpiled for later amusement. Brick

The project is documented here.

Brick was donated here, also from the City of Springfield, which allowed me to create walls.

Brick walls everywhere

Salvaged wood chips

Wood Chips from the Tree Service Companies were being donated here and allowed me to make a tractor-run.

The rocks from Springfield's donated dirt were saved and turned into Raised Garden Beds!

Even that old picket fence you see in the background was somebody's donated trash here (looks nice, huh? Don't get attached, next year it might become kindling to fire up the crapilator) that was invented in memoriam of the ccchd.
