As luck would have it, I just happen to have a bunch of rusty old steel shelves laying around!
Seen are the various means in which shelving was secured to the bus side and ceiling. Predominantly scrap junk was used to erect the shelf.
Down the road a spell I'll be enclosing the shelving area to form of a large closet.
The two vertical steel supports were salvaged from an old lawn tractor, the shelf is one of many that lost it's original supports to other projects, the hinges came from an old small door.
This shelf can fold up and out of the way but will require loosening the vertical supports for this alternative function.
As soon as some more hinges are located, I'll be installing another of these same size shelves directly next to this shelf.
Two shelves would allow for a bunk bed with some minor modifications
Although the shelf is strong enough to do pull ups with, I may add additional support by adding steel beneath (to the wall in addition to the ceiling).
The rear of the bus is still loaded with boxed kindling for the winter, some spare building materials, and other items that need to be relocated (mostly to the dumpster). Luckily I get a regular scrapper that comes by with his truck to pick up all my steel scrap, including the old computer, wire, etc. It's November 10 2022 and today we pretty much topped off his full-sized pickup truck to the safe limit.
As luck would have it, everything thus far shown was removed for something better.
See what happens next.
If anyone is wondering what was utilized for the floor's underlayment, this is the stuff.
