Conventional solar requires buying more stuff to make it all work, such as charge controllers, inverters, batteries, special breakers and disconnects, etc., all of which cripple the "consumer" with expensive purchases that actually limit solar energy! (after the battery banks are fully charged, all potential energy is completely forever lost or wasted away because the energy has nowhere else to go).
My newest discovery will last forever without any input required by me (ever), and since I'm now considered elderly, this new method far-outpaces my desire to maintain battery banks, replace inverters and charge controllers and terminals and cabling, and the periodic other inspections and maintenance that conventional solar demanded of me....THIS ALONE WILL MAKE YOU GET OLD!
But my systemfrees you up from bondage! No kidding, this method of Direct Energy Applications literally uses ALL of the available energy that a solar panel can produce (I know of no other way to accomplish this using any other solar means!).
* As a side note, don't solder to an element if you are doing geo-thermal in the fashion of D.E.A. energy.
I absolutely knew it was a bad idea to solder the first element installation due to knowing what temperature solder will melt and what temperature the element can produce. However since there was not an available connector, the unit was rushed and buried. It's December 5, 2024 at the time of this update and already one element is forever lost (I think). Later in the week I'll apply a controlled load to the wires that go to the first element and see if it is taking amps, but I'm not hopeful. Now that the weather is in the teens outside I've come to notice that the firewood stove is using the thermal mass unexpectedly well and with no effort or hard work to keep the firewood stove lit (due mostly to having converted from wood to compressed/kiln-dried sawdust logs which have a host of advantages over wood logs).
Since this is the first year having the thermal mass surrounding the Firewood stove, the benefits are very much enjoyed.
Although the thermal mass installation was hatched with the new experiment of creating alternative heating using geo-thermal mass injected with Direct Energy, the experiment has not been needed this year because the thermal mass is absorbing all the needed heat from the firewood stove, So-much-so that I have not been using the direct-energy application with geo-thermal at all and it's already February 14, 2025!

September 2024 Update to Geo-thermal energized by Direct Energy
There are now THREE Direct Energy Applications in Geo-Thermal segments however the unexpected outcome has been to build a bed stand of masonry and incorporate it into the existing project. The bed has two large under-the-bed areas completely surrounded by masonry and have a storage height of over 2 feet! There are radius steps to get into the bed. Also there were added two additional breakers to the already three Direct Energy Heating System, one is built through the wall but both are Direct Energy Cookers.
After building the third Direct Energy Application it became quickly apparent that I don't have enough finances to keep building these solid rock and mortar sections (but had already built a 6foot wall around the projected area that my dreamy self envisioned as required area).
So it was hastily decided to plant a bed on top instead. I can just move the bed back to its original location later? Well, no. See, there was this video on youtube that showed a bunch of russians throwing up some practical fireplaces that incorporate their beds and...well, let's just say this bed was a spontaneous dumb after-thought that is now here for the long haul.
The bed is embedded into masonry and will require a sledgehammer to remove.

Having had such great success with our 48v D.E.A. for about a decade now (working flawlessly), 2024 marks the year for using the same method to energize our 12v devices also.

The following video shows an advancement using a Direct Energy Application. This method requires that NOTHING be between the source and the appliance. No inverters, switches, dimmers, batteries, charge controllers, nothing, except maybe a digital meter left connected for your convenience and observation as you figure out your sweet spot of equating the solar potential. The aim is not for perfection or maximum attainment, rather it is to create something that will outlive you and me (and require no additional purchases or maintenance).

Although this video was made quite some time ago, the lights are about double as what is shown in this video. Also I've reoriented the solar panels to a permanent installation since the initial test phase was so successful. The new locations for the three installations that handle the lighting are no longer hindered by a garage on one side and a house on the other. I will replace this video with a better up-to-date video soon.

D.E.A. Notes
1.) It is MUCH easier to build micro-system rather than a large multi-solar panel setup. For ease, choose a solitary 100 watt solar panel which should produce enough light for several large rooms. *The Lab's D.E.A. Lighting finalized at 6qty. 16-foot L.E.D. strip lights powered by two 12v solar panels in parallel which, if each 16-foot strip light were to be installed per room, then 2 solar panels should cover approximately 6 rooms.
2.) After you complete your first working system build a new separate setup for your remaining rooms or applications. Never connect your micro-D.E.A. system together in an attempt to gain some advantage.
3.) Micro-installations (single Solar Panel) are the easiest setup. Multi-panel system can be tricky. Upon a leap of 4 100w solar panels in parallel was more than I could find appliances to consume all the energy being produced. I tried using dimmer switches initially to setup the system(bad idea; weakest link) and burned up one bus fan and three dimmers in an attempt to squelch the amount of energy being produced from 4 solar panels.
4.) *Always start with a super-large load. Your initial Dump Load should be beyond that of your solar panel's documentation, even if it's cloudy !
5.) Don't abandon your present lighting system(AC electricity and lighting). If it's night-time, turn on the lights you were using prior to the addition of the forever free all-day lighting.
6.) Although it is advantageous to implement SHARED or HYBRID D.E.A.on 48v or higher, it is not advised to use hybrid or shared resource for lighting (or bad things will eventually happen). There's more to this last bit of advice but it's still tentative. At present I'm experimenting with a systemthat is about 110v (5 solar panels in series is what I think I have going on for tomorrow) and it works perfectly for lighting only if plugged directly into the 110v-powered lights. In other words I took an extension cord and cut the female end to use directly to the source and then plugging the 110v lights into the multiple female plugs. It worked but I still have that particular solar array connected to a charge controller. If the batteries become full then all of the available energy would have nowhere to go but to burn up the lights. I'm in simmer-mode now with that particular project but liked it very much. So-much-so that as soon as the batteries die and the systemcan now be implemented as a stand-alone D.E.A., I will then resume the experiment because it is do-able and even more importantly is the apparent fact that I no longer have to butcher the AC appliances to convert them to D.E.A.!?? tentative wow.
Remember, all solar panels have a large O.C. rating and many of the 12v panels will produce 23+ volts so keep that o.c. rating in mind while assessing how large your initial dump-load should be. Also, the term, "12 volt" is super-variable. Solar panels produce more than 12v. Can you guess why? The designers of our solar panels have battery charging in mind as the market calls for charging batteries but also we are thankful for the higher voltage, more than nominal 12v, because whenever you add a load to the system the voltage will become lower due to the consumption of the limited available energy. Go to the extreme when planning the dump-load, you can always remove one string of lights at a time when the sun is bright to determine a safe spot to leave the system Initially you might want to rest the systemat 7 or 8 volts (under load) which is still plenty bright while you test the waters on the next bright sunny day. If the voltage stayed the same, check again later in the week (or later in the month depending on the season and/or your area's orientation). Your lights will work regardless of whether the government prohibits you from obtaining gainful employment or if the economy drops, or if you become ill or elderly, or some other unplanned calamity (the lights will still come on from dawn to dusk for you).
For the sake of the next generation, consider taking measures to ensure the saving grace of this game-changer of D.E.A., ensure the method persists into the next generation by teaching your offspring when they are young. Remember the government employs dictatorial "Codes Departments" that will demand that house, if resold, be "as per codes regulations". I have been ordered to remove several installations of non-related builds throughout my 60 years on this planet and so cannot remove the harm my memory holds, harm that was caused by another entity when my construction only could have aided the community or myself and harmed nothing. By teaching your children young will also allow the youthful creative minds to further the useful D.E.A. technology. The employees of most government offices must attend many "classes" and programs (hence, programmed), tread wisely around them and do not buddy up to them because they will flip the script in a heartbeat if ordered to do so. They are not your friends. They are part of a larger scheme to keep homes profitable for the capitalizing systemthat is in place and will not allow for experimentation to develop a better home (as a perfect example, New Mexico's "earthship" homes had to payoff money via the governmental appearances and alter potential due to the all-consuming task of addressing the plutocracy; more details pertaining to this example can still be found on the increasingly-censored Youtube Website by searching for, "earthship". I would bother to include a link here but from experience, know better. The youtube weapon censors an ever-increasing number of producers only to later censor the video making all links to it broken.).
Your lights will still be working even when everything else in your life is not. IN fact, they will continue to work even if you should drop dead on the spot; day in and day out keeping you well-lit for when you are finally found. How conveniently cool would that be?
Dump Load Tips
A dump-load is required until you no longer need a dump-load. If you are working on a lighting system use lights for your dump load; if building for fans, use fans. Motors and compressors are better on their own separate setup. But also anything that pulses should not be connected to the light system. For example, I found that one of my "open" signs pulses each letter until the whole word has been spelled out in lights, then proceeds to blink the entire word which looks really cool but now ALL of your lights are dimming to the tune of your blinking open sign.
Why a large Dump Load?
To give you an idea of scope, if you were to connect only a solitary L.E.D. string-light measuring more than 16 feet of lights, the string will begin to light up at 5 volts solar (under load voltage), yet will FAIL or burn-up by noon. 100w solar panel (+/- ~ 5 amps) would overload the available load.
Learn as you go
It's not only the volts that you have to be mindful of, but also the current [amps x volts = watts], so go big on the load and don't rush the finished product. No worries, you'll invariably still be catching yourself admiring them due to increasing your visible awareness which you may not have possessed prior to the additional everyday-free lighting.
In Closing
It is okay to have a kill-switch (a means to disconnect the panels from the entire load at the flip of a switch) should you ever require darkness during the daytime or to perform some adjustments to your system Kill Switches or Disconnects, often referred to as "Quick Disconnects" are simple boxes and are often found at the monopoly stores (presently to the tune of about $30.00 each and are easy to install).
Direct Energy Applications have been a real game changer for me, you probably realize it to be useful for you also. So try it! And if you have found advantage in this simple method, consider sharing what you accomplished with your neighbors (pass it on before you die). Your success will ensure you leave something for the next generation to enjoy after your demise or in times of hardship.
As of December 1, 2024 I now have a direct energy food processor/blender that works flawlessly using Direct Energy!
Geo-Thermal D.E.A. is better suited at floor-level covered by a wall of solid rock masonry. It will take some time to see the effects as the heat does not escape the surrounding interior rock for some non-specified period of time. The benefit of the lag in transference is that the elements heat up the interior rock during the daytime when it is usually warmer; the time in which the release from interior rocks to the exterior is in the evening (which, during the winter-time is usually colder than in the daytime, for obvious reasons). The more rock mass you put on top and around the element the longer the lag in feeling the effects of increased exterior temperatures.
Added circuitry will only increase the potential that something will go wrong or fail. Adding circuitry can also potentially throw you in a tailspin diagnosing any future failures that added circuitry may create within the system Keep it simple and the systemwill simply keep working.
My Direct Energy conversion will outlast any monopoly one-year warranty
